I Need a Relevant Upgrade

Relevant.

I've always read perezhilton commenting on who's relevant or not among the Hollywood celebrities. I still have to learn how to classify them: A-list down to Z-list. LOL

Anyway, calling someone relevant or irrelevant is not easy. The meaning of the word is still the same as in other cases. To take some example, David Archuleta is relevant and Nick Carter is not. It also has something to do with who's in and out of the scene.

Here's my experience: last weekend I got to talk to C telling me that she saw J and her boyfriend. It's the J I used to date. Anyway, I told C not to talk about her anymore because she's irrelevant these days. She doesn't even appear relevant to her besfriends, one of which I'm currently talking to. (Not really dating yet. Hehe)

upgrade/downgrade

On the other hand, when talking about new celebrity couples, perezhilton comments if the new boy/girlfriend is an upgrade or downgrade; compared with the ex-.

A case in note would be Rihanna dating this new guy Drake (I hope I got it right) who perez calls as a major upgrade from Chris Brown. Then there's Paris Hilton dating football player Cristiano Ronaldo - another major upgrade from Doug Reinhardt. (Paris claims, though, that she and Cristiano are just friends.)

Anyway, my date last weekend would hopefully be an upgrade from J. I can't lower my standards anymore. LOL
