NEW GENERATION STREET WEAR

HOLIDAY COLLECTION 2010 by OZ GO
By Mark Pillos

Buildings. Train. Car. Boat.

These were just some of the concrete images that the young designer Oz Go has captured in his Holiday Collection 2010. He literally used street scenes to create avant garde yet wearable ensembles.

This was his debut in Philippine Fashion Week, but he immediately hooked everyone with awe and admiration in his new generation masterpiece.

Oz Go is one of the persons who pushes me to go on with my avant garde designs. He always tells me that there is a market for it. I was kinda depressed when I thought that I can’t tame my out-of-this-world designs, but he was there trying to convince me that being an avant garde designer is being a new breed of fashion species. (Oh well, this article is not for me LOL)

Let me disclose how he was able to infuse his ideas on his collection. He brought his sketch pad wherever he went and sketched whatever he liked. Then he tried designing using all the ideas that he was able to amass on that magical pad.

He used dyed cotton twill, a fabric with diagonal parallel ribs- perfect for painting images.

FACT:
Cotton twill fabric is heavier than normal cotton material, making it more durable and resistant to tears and wrinkles. At the same time, cotton twill is light, breathable and water-resistant.

One of the foremost reasons why his collection gained praises is that he was able to get measurements accurately, and that is why each of his ten-piece collection was perfectly fit for the models. Embellished with beads, his collection shined in the runway.

But he is brighter than the hues that he used. He is shinier than the beads embellished. He certainly has a future in the fashion world.

Congratulations OZ GO!!! =)
